Part 1 –
General
1.01 SECTION
INCLUDES
- A two –
Step Restoration & Protection System. Step 1,
Algae and mold remover (if needed) is for the
deep cleaning of substrate and removal of
Oxidation off older surfaces. Step 2, Non-Wax
Clear Coating is a fully catalyzed Clear Coating
that is applied by a wipe on wipe off technique
on hard surfaces, and by airless sprayer on
vinyl and fabric@ 1500 sq ft per gallon and left
to dry. This formulation is designed to
increased abrasion resistance from wind borne
contaminates, mitigate the intrusion of chloride
ions, prevents algae and mold growth, stop
oxidation, non yellowing, can be easily re
coated without stripping and keeps surfaces
cleaner longer because of the Self Cleaning NP
Technology.
1.02 SYSTEM
DESCRIPTION
Step 1 of
the System works by penetrating into the surface to
safely and effectively lift contaminants and remove
contaminate build up along with surface oxidation.
This first step is used on older surfaces to assure
a properly cleaned surface for step 2 to attach
properly. Step 2 of the System works by penetrating
into the now opened pores that are found in Vinyl
and Fabric , to form a bond that will leave the
surface smooth and protected. The Clear Coating
reacts with the surfaces to which it is applied
because of propriety cross linking mechanisms that
can only be removed chemically or physically.

Treatment is a water-based liquid, with a
proprietary formula in solution that requires
agitating to re suspend the Nano-particles of
TiO2.
1.03
QUALITY ASSURANCE
- The
treated area shall demonstrate no mold growth,
water repellency, non yellowing, protection
against air borne contaminants, easily repaired
without stripping, can build multiple coats for
greater protection, surfaces stay cleaner longer
and easier to clean surfaces.
- EPA –
Environmental Protection Agency: All components
must be V.O.C. compliant to current regulations.

Applicator shall provide upon request a valid
contractor’s license issued for window cleaning,
waterproofing/painting trade and or other
licenses required in the state in which this
work will be done.
1.04
SUBMITTALS
-
Applicator shall furnish for approval,
immediately upon request, material
specifications together with MSDS and supporting
data for the system. Owner shall respond within
15 days of receipt of such material.
- Owner
reserves the right to accept or reject the
treatment as it may deem necessary for
compliance with information given in the bid
documents.
- The
specified product’s shall be, Simix Algae and
Mold Remover, and the Simix Supreme Shield
Non-Wax Clear Coating as manufactured by:

ENVIRONMENTAL
REQUIREMENTS
-
Application of the Simix Supreme Shield 2 Step
Restoration & Protection System shall meet with
all current environmental laws as prescribed by
all governing agencies.
-
Temperature and humidity of installation
environment shall be at anticipated service
conditions.
- Provide
adequate ventilation during application within
an enclosed space.
-
Disposal of containers and materials and all
costs thereof shall be the responsibility of the
applicator.
Part 2 –
Products
2.01
MATERIALS
- Algae
and mold remover for Vinyl and Fabric shall be a
powdered form, mixed per specifications with hot
water and sprayed on surface, let dwell for
10-12 minutes (do not let dry on surface)
and rinsed off to remove surface contaminants and oxidation.
- Surface
Treatment will be the Non-Wax Clear Coating and
shall be a clear, penetrating, non-toxic,
non-acrylic, non-epoxy, water-based material
which is non film-forming.
Part 3 –
EXECUTION
3.01
EXAMINATION AND PREPARATION
Surface preparation shall follow
the guide lines established by the manufacture of
the Surface to which this product is to be applied.

Treatment shall not be applied to damp, frozen
or dirty, non-absorptive surfaces. Treatment is
not to be used on top of other treatments such
as Acrylics, Urethanes or Epoxies without first
doing a test patch to determine compatibility.
- Surface
shall be cleaned and prepared in accordance with
the manufacturers written
installation/application instructions.
3.02
APPLICATION
A.
Material application shall
be in accordance with the manufacturer’s currently
published specifications.
B.
Reapplication: An additional application is
suggested at 3-6 months, and then reapplied at 12
month intervals. In some harsher, tropical
environments, an additional application may be
needed at 6 months.
Any application can be done at any time, as long as
the substrate is clean of debris and dry. If
substrate is dirty, We suggest Oxi-One All purpose
cleaner and completely dry surface before
reapplication.
3.03
PROTECTION
- Owner
shall be responsible for the protection of the
surfaces immediately after completion and
acceptance. Never apply the Simix Supreme
Shield 2 – Step Restoration & Protection System
when surface temperature is less than 40 degrees
F. Contractor shall be responsible for such
protection until owner’s acceptance.
